St. Vincent, real name Anne Erin "Annie" Clark, is an American musician and singer/songwriter. Her career began with a stint as a member of the Dallas-based choral rock band The Polyphonic Spree before a stint in Sufjan Stevens touring band until eventually forming her own band in 2006 and
Widely respected and consistently praised in the music world, St. Vincent carries a wealth of styles and genres into her music. Jazz influences are melded with experimental rock to create a unique sound and mood within her compositions which she has carried to each of her musical ventures.
Her albums have been unanimously praised for their distinct musical style with her 4th album in particular, the self-titled St. Vincent, bringing hugely positive critical reviews and commercial success. In 2015, with this album, she also became the first female act in 20 years to win the Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album.
